Like most people, I enjoy taking trips. Visiting new places and revisiting old ones adds excitement and wonderment to my life. I enjoy traveling to parks and forests to view God's glorious creation, and I delight in trips to historical places where I can learn more about the history of the world we live in. But most of all, I savor trips that allow me to spend time with my beloved husband and friends. On these occasions, the importance of the destination is secondary to the quality of the time we spend together. When we travel life's roads with those we love, the point of destination is always secondary to the quality of the journey. In life, every journey has wonderful, unexpected serendipities which have the potential to enrich us. If, as we travel, we slow ourselves down long enough to savor the scenery, we will surely discover unexpected treasures.
